Shaping Smarter Loads from Kilowatts to EV Charging
Duke Energy is advancing grid flexibility through two innovative programs: the EV Off-Peak Charging initiative in Florida and the Bring Your Own Kilowatt (BYOK) demand response programs in the Carolinas and Indiana. The EV program successfully shifts significant EV charging load to off-peak hours using telematics and load disaggregation, enabling broad participation across vehicle types. Meanwhile, the BYOK programs focus on increasing reliable load curtailment during seasonal peaks, supported by automated load control. Learn more in this session on how these programs are not only enhancing customer engagement and reducing peak demand but also supporting Duke Energy’s strategic energy goals.
