TechAdvantage 2024: Empowering Electric Cooperatives with More Intelligence

February 28, 2024

Infrastructure is aging and grid requirements are changing fast. The global demand for energy is on the rise. The frequency and severity of extreme weather events are increasing rapidly. The electric grid is more dynamic and complex than ever before. These challenges, in addition to many others, are forcing electric cooperatives and utilities to implement affordable solutions that create efficiencies, increase safety and enhance reliability. We look forward to showcasing how Itron can help electric cooperatives do just that – and turn these challenges into opportunities at TechAdvantage 2024.

TechAdvantage 2024, the premier event for technology professionals to explore the solutions and strategies shaping and driving the future of the electric cooperative industry, is taking place in San Antonio, TX, from March 3-6. In Itron booth 1248, attendees will have the opportunity to explore Itron’s proven, reliable solutions for real-world applications that address evolving grid challenges – leverage broadband FTTH for AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) – as well as solutions for solar and electric vehicle (EV) integration.

As TechAdvantage attendees can learn from visiting booth 1248, Itron offers smart innovations for all sizes of electric cooperatives through a variety of services and technologies:

  • Grid Edge Intelligence Portfolio: With Itron’s proven Grid Edge Intelligence solutions, experience greater visibility and more control at the grid edge to better manage the integration of increasingly distributed and intermittent loads and supply sources amid rising energy demand.
  • Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI): Deliver more accurate and timely data for billing purposes, reduce truck rolls, increase operational efficiency, improve customer service and provide visibility to granular interval data, voltage, and outage data – all using Itron’s Gen5 AMI offering.
  • Distribution Automation (DA): With DA communications leveraging intelligent connectivity from Itron, you can plan and operate distribution systems to monitor and maintain voltage across the network and reroute power in case of disruptions.
  • Network Communications: Itron’s Fiber Mini Access Point helps cooperatives leverage fiber network assets for fast, reliable next-generation AMI, distributed intelligence, DA, low-voltage network management, smart lighting and more to enable grid modernization beyond meter-to-cash.
  • Smart Communities: Leverage Itron’s network, software and partner ecosystem to enable streetlight controls and other member-facing applications. Provide intelligent transportation services for electric vehicles, reduce carbon emissions and improve public safety outcomes with Itron’s diverse array of smart city solutions.

Are you attending TechAdvantage? Stop by booth 1248 to learn how Itron solutions can reimagine service delivery for your cooperative by enabling more intelligent infrastructure and applications that result in more resiliency and reliability. See you in Texas!
