Ron King

Service, and Dispatch Operations, responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to more than 700,000 Pennsylvania customers, as well as more than 40,000 customers in Eastern Kentucky. <br />Since joining Peoples in 2023, Ron has led operational efforts to improve leak management, resulting in a more than 80 percent reduction in outstanding leaks since Peoples became part of Essential Utilities in 2020. He also leads the utility’s efforts to improve safety and reliability by upgrading residential customers to solid-state gas metering technology over the next decade.<br /><br />Before joining Peoples, Ron spent more than 20 years with Washington Gas Company, where he last served as Director of Operations. During a tenure with WGL, Ron focused on field operations, project management, training, quality assurance, and customer service. Ron also served as Senior Director of Gas Operations at AVANGRID in Connecticut and holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Southern New Hampshire University.<br /><br />Ron is a member of the American Gas Association, the Energy Association of Pennsylvania, and the American Association of Blacks in Energy. He is a native of the Washington, D.C. metro area and currently resides in Pittsburgh’s Northside neighborhood.
