Itron Ships 40 Millionth Gas Communication Module
ATCO Gas Recipient of Itron's Gas Metering Technology
LIBERTY LAKE, Wash.—February 20, 2012—Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI) announced today that it reached an unparalleled milestone in the North American gas utility market by shipping its 40 millionth gas communication module. ATCO Gas, an Alberta-based natural gas utility, recently received the module as part of their deployment of 1 million communication devices for an automated gas distribution metering system.
The two-way-capable Itron 100G Datalogging ERT module is a key component in gas metering systems. The solution allows utilities to cost-effectively automate their meter reading processes to improve operational efficiencies, customer service, field safety and delivery reliability.
