Itron Launches Action Manager to Optimize Workflow Management
New Application for OpenWay® Operations Center Provides Increased Control and Awareness to Improve Incident Resolution and Operational Efficiency
LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — Oct. 12, 2017 — Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), a world-leading technology and services company dedicated to the resourceful use of energy and water, announced today the launch of Action Manager, a new software application for OpenWay Operations Center, the software suite that provides a centralized hub that controls the OpenWay network and endpoints and interfaces with utility back-office systems. Action Manager provides a highly innovative tool and framework to manage — and even automate — the resolution of incidents and exceptions involving the network and endpoints at scale through improved situational awareness and workflow management.
Action Manager addresses operational challenges with comprehensive visibility, actionable information and valuable feedback. Enabling a fully integrated operational experience from the back office to the field, the application receives detected faults and exceptions, and processes them through a workflow management tool to ensure that problems are resolved quickly and efficiently.
The application also enables managers to track the status of all exceptions across workflows and monitor the workload across members of a team, so they can stay well-informed about the state of the system and the distribution of work across their team. The tool tracks the history of workflows and the outcome and duration of each step, allowing utility operations teams to evaluate workflows on an ongoing basis to improve effectiveness and accelerate resolution.
“Action Manager is a great example of how Itron is helping address the needs and challenges of our customers. This new application for OpenWay Operations Center helps utility operations teams become more efficient through better management of workload across the team. It provides a clearer understanding of the work to be performed and who owns what,” said Bruce Douglas, senior vice president and general manager of software and services at Itron. “By tackling operational challenges using a well-coordinated team, a utility can ensure that their system is delivering strong business value consistently, day in and day out.”
Action Manager is available globally and works with all generations of Itron’s OpenWay solution, including RFLAN, RF Mesh, cellular and OpenWay Riva networks.
