Itron Introduces Next Generation of WaterMind® Solution for Commercial & Industrial Customers
Water Monitoring Solution Enables Utilities to Protect Revenue, Improve Operations and Enhance Customer Satisfaction
LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — Sept. 26, 2018 — Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), which is innovating the way utilities and cities manage energy and water, introduced a new version of its WaterMind® solution, focused on monitoring commercial & industrial (C&I) as well as district meters for water utilities. The new solution, now IP 68 certified, is available as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). This will enable utilities to minimize the cost of ownership, access data from any device and easily integrate with existing utility software.
Equipped to operate underwatering pit conditions, the WaterMind solution remotely monitors the daily consumption patterns of C&I customers and immediately detects events such as leaks, meter blockages, backflow, excessive consumption or significant pressure drop and transients. Information is sent to a cloud-based platform or via SMS with advanced outcomes to help utilities improve network operations and leak detection. Thanks to features like meter right-sizing assessment and meter index monitoring, utilities can optimize revenue protection. A web portal for end users is also available to increase the level of services provided to key C&I accounts.
