Itron and Krohne Partner to Offer Advanced Meter Technology to Water Utilities

DUISBURG, GERMANY and LIBERTY LAKE, WA—June 30, 2011—Itron and Krohne have announced a partnership that will provide advanced water meter technology to utilities around the world. Under the terms of the agreement, signed recently at Itron's facility in Mâcon, France, Krohne will supply water meters that leverage electromagnetic technology for Itron's portfolio.

With 9.1 million units sold in 2010, Itron is a leading provider of water metering solutions and associated software. Utilities around the world rely on Itron's products and services to optimize the delivery, use and protection of water resource. In order to address all the various levels of the water distribution chain—from network management to billing, Itron has chosen to use Krohne's recognized expertise in the electromagnetic flowmeter technology, expanding its portfolio with both Krohne's flowmeters and battery-powered meters.
