Germany's Largest Municipal Water Utility Selects Itron to Modernize Water System
Hamburg Wasser uses Itron technology to improve metering accuracy and conserve resources
LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — June12, 2014 — Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), a world-leading technology and services company, announced today that Hamburg Wasser, water provider to nearly 2 million people in Germany's second largest city, has selected Itron to help modernize its water metering system. Over the next three years, Hamburg Wasser will install 120,000 Itron AMR-ready water meters, enabling reliable and long-term metering performance so the utility can better manage and conserve water resources.
The largest municipal water utility in Germany, Hamburg Wasser will use the highly-accurate water meters to improve customer billing, recover revenue and account for water usage to conserve resources. The world-class piston type volumetric water meters are designed for the best in metering and billing for residential applications.
