Dean Meyer

Dean Meyer is an experienced leader in advanced metering, smart city infrastructure and applied technology, currently serving as AMI Manager at Augusta Utilities. In this role, he leads large-scale modernization initiatives to enhance water system performance, data visibility and customer service through the deployment of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). He is responsible for end-to-end program delivery, including vendor selection, procurement, system integration and implementation strategies that align technology investments with operational and community outcomes. <br /><br />Meyer is driving a multi-year AMI transformation effort involving the replacement of tens of thousands of water meters, integrating modern data platforms with legacy systems to ensure accurate, timely delivery of actionable insights across utility stakeholders. His work focuses on optimizing water usage, improving billing accuracy and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.<br /><br />In parallel with his operational leadership, Meyer serves as a research affiliate with Augusta University, where he contributes to the development of low-cost environmental sensors.
