Celebrating Earth Day the Itron Way: In Our Communities
Earth Day 2026 may be over, but our commitment to create a more resourceful world continues year-round. While the day is an opportunity to reflect on how we can live more sustainably as individuals, it’s also a chance to step into our communities and take collective action. Below are a few examples of how Itron teams around the world came together to celebrate Earth Day 2026.
Lake Cleanup in Austin, Texas
Itron employees in Austin took part in the Rowing Dock’s fifth annual Earth Day cleanup and fundraiser at Lady Bird Lake, helping preserve the vitality of a natural resource while enjoying an afternoon connecting outside of work.
Itron Mile Pickup in Liberty Lake, Washington
In Liberty Lake, a group of employees braved a rainy spring afternoon to pick up litter along the Itron Mile on the Centennial Trail, a long-standing and interconnected route throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Community Impact Across Itron’s India Locations
In Bangalore, employees and their families participated in a tote bag painting activity in collaboration with the Akshaya Patra Foundation. The event encouraged the use of reusable bags while fostering environmental awareness.
In Noida, the team organized an outreach event at Earth Saviours Foundation, spending time with abandoned senior citizens and residents with intellectual disabilities. The day included planting trees, serving meals, making paper bags alongside residents and donating five wheelchairs, essential supplies and more than 40 plants.
Employees across India also marked Earth Day through a picture collage activity, sharing personal actions and reflections on protecting the planet. The collages highlighted everyday choices and sparked conversations around sustainable living.
Itron India’s Page Turners Book Club hosted a reflective Earth Day session featuring author Kanseng Shyam, who discussed the themes of his book O My Beloved River and the connection between people, nature and cultural heritage.
Additionally, the Bangalore office organized an e‑waste collection drive, providing employees with an opportunity to safely dispose of electronic waste and reduce the environmental impact of improper disposal.
We’re proud of Itron employees who celebrated Earth Day 2026 through both individual and community-focused action. Let’s continue taking steps—big and small—to protect the place we all call home.
