Arup Barat is a seasoned professional in the Cleantech industry, having dedicated more than 20 years to making significant contributions to Greentech, SmartGrid, and software sectors. Currently, as a Senior Product Manager at Itron's Distributed Energy Management group, he focuses on developing EV fleet solutions for transportation electrification and leveraging EVs as DER assets for grid-edge ecosystems.<br /><br />Throughout his career, Arup has held notable executive positions showcasing his expertise and strategic vision. He co-founded and served as CEO at Infiswift Solutions, successfully guiding the Silicon Valley energy IOT company from its inception to commercialization. As Head of Marketing at AutoGrid, he revitalized the brand narrative, leading to the largest investment round in the company's history and eventual acquisition by Schneider Electric.<br /><br />Arup's leadership experience extends to his Senior Director of Product Management and Strategic Marketing role at SunEdison Inc, where he spearheaded product and go-to-market strategies while defining commercial constructs for an innovative DER solutions portfolio. At SunPower Corp, he served as a global product management lead, overseeing a comprehensive range of value-added DER software services and solutions for high-performance PV modules.<br /><br />During his tenure at Draker Inc. as the Vice President of Product Marketing and Management, Arup successfully managed a global portfolio of energy SaaS solutions. His restructuring efforts transitioned the core product offerings from pure-play monitoring and SCADA software to IoT and Big Data-driven SaaS solutions optimized for the Utility segment.<br /><br />Similarly, at Connected Energy Corp, Arup served as the Vice President of Strategy, where he realigned the product strategy and enhanced the portfolio to cover the full lifecycle of solar PV installations. He forged strategic relationships, scoped market opportunities, and developed in-depth industry insights. <br /><br />Beyond his executive roles, Arup is regarded as a thought leader, holding patents in PV power electronics and making notable contributions to IEEE 1547.3.
