UA Week: Innovation Shares

During the second general session of UA Week, six solution providers who will deliver fast-paced presentations showcasing innovative solutions designed to address today’s most pressing transmission and distribution challenges. Meredith Gilstrap, Senior Principal Data Scientist, will represent Itron as one of the six presenters "From Data to Dispatch: Automating Fault & Anomaly Detection at the Grid Edge”: Underground faults and early-stage anomalies are notoriously difficult to detect—limited visibility, noisy signals and high consequence when issues escalate. In this Innovation Share, we’ll explore how fully automated analytics and intelligence at the grid edge can identify fault signatures and anomalies in near real time—transforming raw signal data into actionable insight without manual lag. We’ll walk through practical, real-world examples spanning underground fault detection and location, as well as broader anomaly patterns relevant to wildfire and downed-conductor risk. The focus: what utilities can do today, what’s emerging and how to operationalize analytics at scale. Following the presentations, attendees will vote to select the “Most Innovative Solution at UA Week 2026".
