Itron Celebrates 1 Millionth Gas Smart Meter Installed in Azerbaijan

Itron, a world-leading technology and services company dedicated to the resourceful use of energy and water, acknowledged on Friday the millionth gas smart payment meter installed in Azerbaijan. In celebration of this milestone, President of Itron's gas business line, Marcel Regnier, presented the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) President Rovnag Abdullayev and General Manager of Azerigaz with a gold painted meter.

Because the celebration coincided with the first European Games in Baku, special gold medallions were additionally presented to Mr. Abdullayev. The established cooperative relations between SOCAR's "AzeriGas" Production Union (PU) and Itron Gas will further contribute to the more efficient management of the gas supply in this region.
